DR. TYCZKA ENERGY AWARD
As his personal contribution to the sustained promotion of energy research, Dr. H.-W. Tyczka, majority shareholder in the Tyczka group of companies, founded the non-profit Tyczka Energie Foundation in the year 1999.

The purpose of the Tyczka Energie Foundation is to promote research in the fields of energy recovery, energy technology and application, to promote and develop environmentally compatible energy supply as well as useful measures for protection of the environment.  The purpose of the foundation is also to promote research in the field of industrial gases of all types.

Support is provided for individuals, companies and institutions, in particular through the promotion of planned research, the allocation of scholarships to potential junior scientists and technicians, the granting of subsidies to finance guest chairs, and the organisation and execution of symposiums as well as the promotion of information and training events and publications in the above-mentioned areas of research.

The Dr. Tyczka Energy Award that has been presented now every year for 10 years is also awarded by the Tyczka Energie Foundation - in cooperation with the University of Zittau/Görlitz and since 2005 also with the Technical University of Munich. The award is offered annually for work that covers the decentralised application of gas for energetic applications or decentralised energy use and supply. Students and graduates of all German-speaking universities can apply for the award for the representation of innovative solutions in degree, master and doctor theses.

The Tyczka group of companies thus also shows its strong commitment in the field of science.
